Blind Guardian - Ban nhạc đến từ Krefeld, Đức này hiện tại được biết đến và tôn vinh là 1 trong những nghệ sĩ đầu tiên và có ảnh hưởng lớn nhất đến dòng power/speed metal trên thế giới.
Blind Guardian được thành lập năm 1984 bởi André Olbrich (guitar), Hansi Kürsch (hát chính, bass), Marcus Siepen (guitar) và Thomen Stauch (trống)(nhưng ông rời band vào năm 2005, và được thay thế bởi Frederik Ehmke). Trước khi hoạt động với tên chính thức là Blind Guardian, ban nhạc đã phát hành hai bản demo "Lucifer’s Heritage"-Di sản của Lucifer năm 1985 và 1986.
Âm nhạc của họ lấy cảm hứng nhiều từ thế giới hư cấu của các nhà văn giả tưởng như: JRR Tolkien, Michael Moorcock, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman cũng như các huyền thoại truyền thống và sử thi..."
